Never Forget
Enya Only Time Tribute
The painting tribute video
I was picking up banking deposits when the first plane hit. The rest of the day is just a blurry memory but I'll never forget.

Re: Never Forget
I've put a memorial thread in our birthdays and anniversaries forum to remember this sad event on Anything Goes as well.
The day lives on in the memories of most people who want to see peace and tolerance of all beliefs in the world.
My sympathies go to you and all the people who lost loved ones on that terrible day.

Re: Never Forget
That horrific day was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning; and I think no matter who or where we are, none of us will ever forget. It was the day the world changed forever.
I hope it is some comfort to all our American friends to know that we are with them in thought today, and that our hopes for peace are the same, worldwide.
We were in Ireland, touring the Waterford crystal factory, when our son rang from London to tell us the news. We immediately reported it to the people there who turned CNN on ... it was like watching a movie, and seemed so unreal. I can remember feeling sick with horror and so sad for all the happy Americans who were having a great holiday in Ireland. We left right away and drove to a nearby hotel where we spent the day watching the events unfold on CNN, in total disbelief.
I'm sure everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when the news broke.
We will not forget.

Re: Never Forget
The one day that I didn't have tv on. People coming home from work and college had to tell me about it and I still couldn't believe it wasn't a film set and a new movie being advertised.

Re: Never Forget
I have a memorial up over on (now its been taken down apart from the flag which will stay up for a while yet)
I was working when this happened and so put the TV on and we had people in from the streets watching the TV in the shop. People were crying. It was terrible.
And our thread is HERE

Re: Never Forget
I didn't have to work that day, and happened to stay up all night on the computer. The sound on the TV was all the way down, and I was about to turn it off and go to bed when I saw what was happening. I don't know what was more shocking, the fact that it was happening, or the fact that they still left room for a possible "accident" being the cause, even after the 2nd plane had hit.
That was a horrible day in this world's history. To add insult to injury is the fact that our government has used it so much in their propaganda, even though they failed to prevent it despite several warnings, and they've used it to create an "us" vs "them" mentality, neglecting to mention what we did to them before they did that to us.
Yes, remember 9/11, remember the holocaust, remember the inquisition. Most of all, let's all work together and try to prevent that type of history from repeating itself yet again. If we don't learn from past mistakes, then all of those deaths were in vain.
