Stardust
Would you like to see a movie that is somewhere between Evermore and The Princess Bride? Then this cute movie that almost didn't get made is for you
It is a fun movie with a 97 year old guard that fights like Jet Li, Magic that is funny and a pirate that has identity issues hahaha... It is a Fantasy flick with just a small touch of science hidden in there to qualify for the Hugo awards (which it won btw!).
Chick flick? not exactly but I think it does more to appeal to the women instead of the men...

Re: Stardust
Is it coming to the cinema? I am a huge cinema buff and I see every movie out as I have a unlimited pass. I go at least once a week sometimes more. Will be going tomorrow and went Friday to see The Duchess.

Re: Stardust
We only get to see movies that Giv likes, he didn't want to see Mamma Mia, and to be honest I still don't want to see it. But because all his old buddies at the bowling club tell him that it is fun, yes they are all locked into the 1970s and think they're very trendy because they like ABBA music, I have to endure this terrible movie on Monday.
I know I'll get beaten about the head for saying this but I think it is pure kitsch. I hate Pierce Brosnan with a passion, I can't imagine anything worse than Meryl Streep attempting to sing (yes I can I have that awful woman screaming about how she needs to be VP on tv every day) and being an ABBA fan in the 1970s is something I prefer to forget. So how do I get out of being dragged off to see this ridiculous movie.
So to get back to Rick's story. I have to wait for them to be broadcast on tv to see 'chick flicks'.
We don't have a movie house nearby so I only get to go once or twice a month. But my kids get the new movies for me and then I do a stupid thing like leaving them at their house (damn). I love movies, I have almost 1,000 in my collection. Erika if you think this is a good one, I'll keep a note of it to watch when it comes to our pay channel in about 6 months.

Re: Stardust
Very interesting the similarities between her and Princess Di. Also Keira Knightley is such a Princess Di clone, the voice, the looks, everything about her, she could almost be her daughter and yet because she is so young, she barely knows anything about her.

Re: Stardust
I recommend you read the book first, an easy read.
Not the best thing Neil Gaiman has ever written (and if you've read Sandman comics you'll notice plenty of recycled ideas and details), but I haven't so far read a Gaiman book (nor comic) I didn't like.
There's also a comic version of Stardust. I don't know, but I assume it's closer to the book than the movie.
