A virgin army proclaiming the thrill of the chaste

The American ‘purity movement’ is growing fast. Meet the girls who won’t even kiss before marriage and their highly protective fathers

Please read this

It's a long article but it is worth reading all the way through.

Having grown up during the 1950s and 60s, I feel I am qualified to speak from both points of view here.
My father as you are all aware was a very devout, pious man who ruled our roost with a rod of iron. If any one of us had produced a child without marriage, crying would be the very least thing we would have had to worry about.
Before the invention of the pill and the sexual revolution of the late -60s, girls were expected to behave this way but without any knowledge whatsoever. To the extent that the 'facts of life' were told to you on the night before your wedding and then you were told only enough to put the fear of God into you.
Babies were not discussed, you didn't ask because your mother hid her pregnancy, I know my mother did, when she produced a sister for me shortly after my 8th birthday, the first I knew about it was when her arrival was announced. Even one of my older sisters who was 16 and knew my mother was pregnant was not allowed to talk about it to the oldest sister who was 19.
Periods were not discussed, you were told how to take care of yourself and that you could expect it once a month, nothing more.
At least these girls know what to expect and they understand how their bodies function. But is it a good thing to insist on 'purity'. And is the 'purity' real? Is there anyone here who has been through the process recently and who is qualified to tell the outcome of purity protected until marriage.
In my experience, it doesn't make for a healthy marriage from a sexual point of view. That unexpressed passion becomes a habit and leads to repressed feelings throughout the couple's marriage, or am I over-simplifying it?
What do you think?
