Re: James Long

James is still in surgery (he went in at 3:05pm my time so it has been over 5 hours now). I talked with the charge nurse and she says that things are going slower than usual but so far he is doing well on his side so no complications of a drastic nature. From what I can find out it looks like he might be out of surgery in another 4 hours or so!

James came out of surgery just after 11:00pm and is now in the ICU surgery recovery area. I do not know how well they did yet but I'll let you know just as soon as I can.

Re: James Long

James has not woken up yet but he is breathing on his own and the surgeon said everything went better than he expected. They did send a specimen of the growth out for testing but they do not believe it is a cancerous growth so that is good. The floor nurse said that she had seen others sleep for three days after this kind of surgery so no one but me is worried about it...

Rest is good, particularly for eyes to heal. I'm sure he's going to be fine. Think positive thoughts.

James woke up about an hour ago --Log in or sign up to see linked image content--. The docs won't let him take the raccoon mask off (thats what I call it) for about 4 days so we won't have any idea how well they did till then but I feel much better now that I hear him asking for food and complaining emoticon

Oh well, being hungry and complaining are two very good signs! emoticon

Too bad we can't get a picture of him in his Raccoon [sign in to see URL] know, for blackmail purposes later! emoticon

Pass on our thoughts to his continued recovery and successful operation [sign in to see URL] and tell him to leave the nurses [sign in to see URL] work hard! emoticon

James won't consent to having his picture online even when its hidden by the mask. However, I looked around the internet and this pic looks pretty close to what he is wearing (but it is black and white so I call it a raccoon mask) emoticon
