The Chocolate Oracle

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You

Image

You are sophisticated, modern, and high class.
Your taste is refined, but you are not picky.
You are often the first to try something new.

You are a whimsical person prone to daydreaming.
Artistic and creative, you're always in the middle of a project.
While you are an inspiration to others, you can come off as flaky.

You love new adventures and activities. You enjoy living a full life, even if it is chaotic.
You feel lost when things are quiet. You rather not think... you prefer to just do!

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You

You are sweet, mellow, and easily satisfied (No! not always).
You don't like anything too intense and dramatic.
Deep down, you're a kid at heart... and you're nostalgic for the past.

You are a whimsical person prone to daydreaming.(No, don't daydream, got too many mountains to climb)
Artistic and creative, you're always in the middle of a project.
While you are an inspiration to others, you can come off as flaky.

You love being by yourself and thinking. Developing your own theories and ideas is fun.
You feel lost when you're forced to be social. Being with other people can be lonely for you. (Not in the least, I love being with other people too).

You are down to earth and lovable.
A true friend, you're very tolerant and understanding.
In fact, your friends' biggest problem is that they don't like each other!

You love to be the center of attention. You enjoy entertaining your friends.
You feel lost when no one is interested in you... You're too interesting to be ignored.

I don't feel lost at all in company and I never feel "forced" to be social!

hehehe the only time I feel "forced" to be social is when I officiate a wedding. Once the ceremony is over I feel like the 5th wheel on a car, totally out of place.

I can imagine that afterwards you might somehow feel superfluous Rick - almost as if they're done with your services, and that seems so unfair!

The priest who married us all those years ago came to our reception as well -as did the priest who married our son and d-i-l. But then both of them were virtually part of the family anyway ... and we truly wanted them and their families to be there to share in all the happiness. Do you also get invited to the wedding receptions?

Yes I do and most of the time I'll show up for a few minutes but some of the events at receptions... lets just say I politely leave after 20 minutes or so everyone will feel more comfortable emoticon

The one wedding event I officiated where I felt I had to stay was when my oldest niece requested my services and of course I had to say yes to that. It was very strange and a bit shocking to see the "little girl" I knew going through all the reception activities some of which proved she was now a woman if you know what I mean...

It's strange that sometimes people feel that they have to put on a front and not be themselves, in a manner of speaking, just because the pastor is there.
Pastors are human too! Just people, like the rest of us .. but obviously defined by the work they do. We behave the same with everyone regardless of what they do for a living so this "putting up a front" that happens with the priest around is weird to me. Perhaps it's meant out of respect, but if you behave respectfully anyway all the time, what difference does it make?
I don't change my personality if I'm with a doctor or a dentist or a book-keeper or a computer boff, or anyone else - I relax no matter who they are or what they do, so why should I be any different if I'm with someone high up in the church?
It must be hurtful for you sometimes Rick and I'm sorry that you're made to feel that way.

Retirement is a great leveller. When people are defined by their occupation or profession and they retire, they become just another 'old' person.
We meet them socially, especially at the bowling club where everybody is just their first name and nobody really cares if you were a heart-surgeon or a minister of religion, or a street sweeper in your 'previous' life. You're just another member of the community.
I hate it when people are seen as being 'different' because of what they do in their work.
I think that the next time you officiate at a wedding ceremony, you should just dance with everybody in the room at the reception and see what happens.
