Hey Petal! emoticon You can google Ray Comfort and find all sorts of info on him. He's written a lot of books and his website is Living Waters
He teaches evangelism and using the Law first and then Grace.
Here's a link to Rays Blog, also known as "Atheist Central" for all the atheists who post comments there.

in my experience those who hand them out definitely try to force them on me, and they even get quite argumentative and huffy at times.

To me, that seems useless. If you can convince someone to take it with them and look into it later, that's one thing, but to try to force it does no good at all. I mean, if someone does end up bugging you enough that you actually take their info (just to shut them up and be on your way), what do you do with it? The same thing anyone else would do with it, you throw it away. Thus they wasted your time and their own resources that could have been given to someone else who would be willing to actually read it.

As for JWs (those Watchtower people), I always offer to trade them - I'll take their info if they'll take mine. emoticon

I don't, I tell them to go away in words that they definitely can't misinterpret.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, I'm going to take the trouble to read that foreword very carefully, then I'll tell you what I think, mainly because I'll be watching a lot of TV shows about Charles Darwin this week.

What a load of utter garbage.
I could say some choice things about that rubbish, but i won't.
How can people ask such ridiculous questions, of course a biplane can't evolve into a jet, biplanes are not living organisms.
Shows how undereducated the man is.
I hope he gets laughed off every campus in the country and that the students use the pages to light bonfires.

Haven't read it Mo - the little info you gave was enough to convince me it's a waste of time. Can't handle evangelism in any form I'm afraid, anyway. None of the reborn stuff for me! I guess I'm still too much of a traditionalist when it comes to religion and I don't believe you can be born twice into Christianity, sorry.
In fact I don't believe you can be born twice anyplace, either literally or figuratively speaking!
The Mormons are another lot. Years ago EW made the mistake of inviting them into our home and we couldn't get rid of them, sat there talking garbage. I eventually got them to go by asking them about chastity belts and polygamy and they lit out of there faster than you could say "drivel"!! They had no idea about debate at all - everything was repeated parrot fashion and taken out of context.

It's all the same boring nonsense that these people come up with all the time. It's actually a non-event. I read only a few lines and then lost interest.
Just because the copyright on something has run out, you don't have the right to take it over and write your own garbage on top of it and then distribute it under false pretenses.
I think the best thing to do is to ignore the idiot and hopefully he'll just go away.

I like that idea. Maybe I should have a few scientific pamphlets printed up and keep them outside my apartment door, with a note saying, "I'll read yours if you read mine." emoticon People never approach me directly, but I've recently found a couple of Watchtowers outside my door when I get home from work. I just look at some of the things it says on the cover, roll my eyes, shake my head, and chuck it without opening it.
