Thank you both for the karma and the kind words.
I am an unbeliever not a mean warring Bible-destroyer.
Because I don't believe something doesn't give me the right to smash the people who do. Also I am able to see the other person's point of view if it is logical and well-thought-out. That is a nonsense story, unrealistic and just plain stupid so I discount it as being of any value in a sensible debate.

Cool beans, Rick. 
Mo, I don't want to destroy the Bible either. It's an interesting collection of literature, and a glimpse into people's beliefs and philosophies at the time when it was written. If anyone destroys the Bible, I would it's those who use it to gain power, as well as others who use it as an excuse to do some pretty nasty things.

I find what gets me is that sometimes verses in the Bible are taken out of context and twisted - used as a means to an end, if you like. I guess a lot depends on interpretation of the texts and what you believe or don't believe.
It's still the most popular book in the world with more sales than any other!

It's odd with the Bible. You have to know what is 'the truth', what is 'symbolic' or 'a parable' or 'not in context', or you will be wrong; unless of course you agree with the person who is promoting it as reading material.
So if you don't agree, then you are misreading one of the above, if you do agree, everything you say is correct, even if it's total rubbish.
