Re: Lesa
Lesa, as you already know, I think what you're doing is great.
Putting the past behind you and moving on and not sitting around moping, hoping for peoples' sympathy is the best way to walk away from the loss of a relationship so no more on that, as you say it's in the past, time to move on.
You do know that if you need to get away for a while completely out of your environment, you are very welcome to come to us here.
Having said that, I think it's fantastic. I had a similar thing happen in my late 30s when I found myself having to cope with life on my own and a whole lot of people looking to me to support them, so I know how you feel. At the time there was no way I could pursue my dreams because of that so I had to wait for almost another 30 years to finally get to that point but now I'm here and doing the things I love to do and because I don't need the money, I can do them without thinking about whether they will bring in money or not.
But as you say, you need to make some money with what you want to do and you want to be able to work from wherever you find yourself.
I have another idea I want to put to you, as part of your training site. If you'd like to discuss it on your board.

Re: Lesa
Thank you, MO.
I read your post at my board, and will need to give it some thought. Something like you're talking about with the remote might require flash or AJAX. I've never learned AJAX yet, and the only flash program I've ever owned is years old and on my old computer that hasn't been hooked up in months. DHTML might be another option, but I've never done anything quite like you're proposing, but will definitely give it some thought.
The trading issue is another thing, which we can probably blame the 419'ers for. I can't see any other reason why we wouldn't be allowed to trade with you.

Re: Lesa
Scam artists Petal. The kind who ask you to send money to them and then clean you out.
Lesa, I just gave the remote control thing as an idea. I'm just really throwing ideas out there.

Re: Lesa
Petal, I think 419 scams are a good topic for discussion, so I started a thread here.
MO, you seem to have a knack for making videos. They may not be interactive like your remote control idea, but they can be a great way to explain things.
Erika, your continued support has already helped me so much, and I'm grateful to you for your friendship. Thank you.

Re: Lesa
Thanks Lesa, yes I do make good videos, the trouble is that I need a voice-over artist to speak on them. I'm going to continue working with my old friends, I'll get them internet-literate if it's the last thing I do.
We'll be moving to a retirement village during the first year or so; one of the things I have planned for that is to use the hall, which we're allowed to use as part of the package, for parties or shows or whatever we like, as a venue for lectures on computers and computer-literacy.

Re: Lesa
You're welcome, MO. I made a suggestion about speaking in that Illusia thread that may or may not be helpful, but I'd be happy to do a voice-over or two if you send me a script or recording of what you want to say. I've had so much practice after doing that blog intro, it shouldn't take me much time to record an mp3.

Thanks Lesa, that's very kind of you I'll certainly bear it in mind when I get around to looking at it next year.
