And if you think it is not possible, why do you think that way? The Bible says it is appointed a man once to die, and then the judgment. We only get one shot at this life, and it goes by quickly. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Order ofMelchizedek)Fri, 04 Sep 2009 15:19:03 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6391,from=rss#post6391https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6391,from=rss#post6391The journey of life is a one-way street just like the flow of time Bummee. And I do buy lottery tickets....HEY! Somebody has got to win! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Thu, 27 Aug 2009 12:16:08 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6362,from=rss#post6362https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6362,from=rss#post6362If you see it like a lottery ticket, your heart isn't right and it would do you no good anyway. Might as well enjoy the time you have. But it's interesting, isn't it? This verse is true - most will proclaim their own goodness. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Order ofMelchizedek)Thu, 27 Aug 2009 00:48:11 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6361,from=rss#post6361https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6361,from=rss#post6361Just like I'm not going to buy lottery tickets on the off chance that I might just win a prize, I'm also not going to take a chance on a lottery that some myth created by people who were barely able to read and write and who stole ideas from their neighbors is going to determine my life. I live the best life I can with what I have and if I'm going to burn in eternal hellfire, it will happen anyway when I'm cremated and I'll be dead. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Morwen Oronor)Wed, 26 Aug 2009 23:45:31 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6338,from=rss#post6338https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6338,from=rss#post6338Well Mel.....I'll be who I am till the end and take my judgment or become fertilizer, and if I am deemed 'good enough' for your Lord, then you and I will see each other again. As for now......I try to do the best I can, for all those I can, for as long as I can... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Wed, 26 Aug 2009 15:17:26 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6336,from=rss#post6336https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6336,from=rss#post6336Jesus came for those who were imperfect, Queeny! He didn't come for those who consider themselves to be perfect, He came for those who know that they're not.    This is stuff that needs to be sorted out on this side, you won't have the chance to change your mind afterwards. I'd like to see ya on the other side. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Order ofMelchizedek)Wed, 26 Aug 2009 15:13:21 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6310,from=rss#post6310https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6310,from=rss#post6310Well, you see........I know I'm not perfect (and I'd not like to live in the dream world of thinking I am), been times in my life I am rather ashamed of, been times over the last 50 plus years that I have done harm to others, some unwittingly, some on purpose, been times when I went against my own better judgment..........but I'm also not worried about it......as everything will be sorted out in the end.....one way or another. If there is a Heaven or Hell......I'll be going one way or the other (and I shall find friends in BOTH places). If not, I shall be some awesome fertilizer for the Sierra Nevada mountains.... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Wed, 26 Aug 2009 10:46:56 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6303,from=rss#post6303https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6303,from=rss#post6303blah blah! I don't need 1st millenium BCE Near Eastern mythology tests to prove anything to me, my life is enough evidence that I am a good person and so are the members of my family. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Morwen Oronor)Wed, 26 Aug 2009 08:47:04 +0000 Re: Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6291,from=rss#post6291https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6291,from=rss#post6291Wow, a whole slew of perfect people? HI ya MEL.... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Tue, 25 Aug 2009 15:46:11 +0000 Proverbs 20:6https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6262,from=rss#post6262https://btimeandagain.runboard.com/p6262,from=rss#post6262"Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness, but a faithful man, who can find?" It's true, isn't it? People will generally consider themselves good, no matter what they've done. But God doesn't use the same standard as we do. He doesn't grade on a curve, He doesn't compare you to any other people, He judges by His moral standard. It would be a good thing to know how you stand before the day of Judgment. The requirement is perfection, so out of all the "good" people out there, how many would consider themselves perfect? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Order ofMelchizedek)Tue, 25 Aug 2009 14:19:41 +0000
